I stopped using Mobile phone for 24 hours | This is what happened

 I felt my life was not in my control, even when i wanted to take control i desparetly failed. 

What do i mean by life control. My life was in auto pilot mode. Wake up, go to work, come back home, scroll social media, eat and sleep repeat.

I wanted to do something like a side project, small business, reading or anything that will improve life better but i can't do it. 

I was also not able to focus my job well. 

There is only one reason for this, it is mobile addiction.

I frequently check my mobile, i watch some videos, i go to x, instagram and some other apps everyday. 

I realised my mobile addiction was a reason for the non-productiveness and stopping me to take control my life. 

There was a day, i didn't use my mobile phone till 11 AM. then i decided to extend it to two days and end up doing it for 1 full day.

I am gonna share the whole experience here.

First here is the things i did during that day.

  1. I watched one episode from a series on TV.
  2. I read book.
  3. I was able to resume my side project(Eventually completed)
  4. Went for a walk.
Here is the list of the things i experienced.

  1. Taking back my life in control
  2. Reduced urges to use mobile
  3. Increase my awareness
  4. Clarity
  5. Being productive
I always had a urge to check my mobile phone frequently, this one was killing my all the productive hours.

But after not using the mobile phone for 24 hours. My resistance level increased and i was able to do things for a prolonged period.

If you are a mobile addict i request you to follow the same. Additionally follow the below things

  1. Don't use mobile phone in the morning after waking up
  2. Don't use the mobile phone before hitting the bed.
  3. Do not use mobile phone till you complete all the priority tasks
  4. Don't use mobile phone when you are bored, because your boredom helps you to do the less dopamine activities like reading books, writing, walking.
People became addict to alcohol because it is easily available everywhere. Similarly, we have mobile access to anytime that's the main reason for mobile addiction so we are going to add friction to this by following the above activities.
